We have developed a new vessel for our range, which is the widest we have built to date. The ALUCAT® W30 will be launched during 2026. However, the vessel is already available for pre-order, and our design department can create a fully customized plan already at this stage.
Why width matters

In the boating industry, it is common to talk about length and beam. However, length and beam only tell part of the story, as in professional use it is the total working space that ultimately defines a vessel’s usability.
The W30 has a hull beam of nearly four metres (Bmax 3.99 m) and an overall length of approximately 8.5 metres with engines. In practice, this translates into 30 square metres of completely flat, threshold-free deck space. For comparison, in most V-hull boats of a similar length, a significant portion of the beam is lost due to the hull’s tapering shape. ALUCAT’s catamaran hull solves this issue, as the hull sides rise vertically, meaning the usable space is true working space without losing a single centimetre.
W30 and 30 m² of working space

The deck can accommodate, for example, a vehicle such as an ATV, a passenger car, or a horse trailer, as well as heavy equipment and multiple personnel at the same time without compromising stability. The wide bow ramp significantly facilitates loading and unloading operations. The deck space is fully customizable: the cabin, cranes, storage solutions, and securing points can be positioned exactly where they serve best.
What does the B certification mean in practice
The W30 is our first model for which we are seeking CE classification in category B, the so-called “Offshore” category. This represents a significant step in our model range.
The CE classification system divides boats into four categories based on the conditions in which they are designed to operate safely. Category B means that the vessel is designed for offshore conditions, where wind speeds can reach up to 40 knots (Beaufort scale 8) and significant wave heights up to 4 metres. In practice, this means that the W30 is built for demanding sea conditions that most vessels of a similar size are not suited for.
Our current models are primarily CE category C certified, meaning they are designed mainly for coastal waters, inland waterways, and archipelagos. The category B classification significantly expands the W30’s operational range and makes it better suited for offshore missions, extended coastal operations, and conditions where weather can change rapidly.
In professional use, certification also plays a role in the procurement process: authorities, rescue services, and other public operators often require a specific CE classification to be met in tendering procedures.

Built to order
Like all ALUCAT® boats, the W30 is always built to order by hand in Ylöjärvi, Finland. Each vessel is unique and designed from the ground up according to the customer’s requirements. This means that the W30’s deck layout, equipment, and technical solutions are defined by its intended use.
Although the W30 will be officially launched later in 2026, orders are already being accepted. Our design team can begin preliminary drawings and budgetary quotes immediately after the initial contact.
