ALUCAT® Warranty Terms
General warranty terms for Alucat boat packages from 1st January 2023. Alucat offers a limited warranty on Alucat boat packages purchased through factory or authorized Alucat Dealer.
1. The general warranty terms of Alucat boat packages shall apply to:
- Alucat + motor boat packages, including technical equipment.
2. Warranty provider by brand:
– The warranty for outboard engines is provided by the engine manufacturer
– The warranty for ALUCAT® boats is provided by Alucat Catamarans Oy
- The warranty for installed or supplied accessories is assumed by the accessory manufacturer.
3. The hull of the boat has a 2-year hull warranty and the outboard motors have a warranty provided by the motor manufacturer. The equipment installed to the boat at the shipyard and by the retailer (steering, gauges, electrical system, electronics, hood, cushions, seats, retrofittings and accessories) have an equipment-specific warranty provided by the manufacturers.
4. The warranty of the boat and hull does not cover aesthetic deviations, colour changes caused by UV radiation, oxidation, mould or the fading of colours or melting caused by the use of solvents.
5. Any faults to the raw materials or manufacturing that are identified during the warranty period of the boat shall be repaired by the boat manufacturer free of charge. The boat must be delivered to the manufacturer or a location appointed by the manufacturer for inspection, unless otherwise separately agreed with the manufacturer.
6. For the outboard engine warranty, the warranty terms of the outboard engine manufacturer apply, and warranty matters are handled directly with the outboard engine service provider.
7. The warranty does not cover:
- Faults that are caused by factors independent from the manufacturer, such as natural wear and tear, incorrect or lack of maintenance, lack of damage repairs or use that is non-compliant with the instructions in the owner’s manual or the negligence of instructions
– Boats fitted with an outboard engine that exceeds the maximum permitted engine power or weight specified on the manufacturer’s type plate
– Boats fitted with an outboard engine that exceeds the maximum permitted engine power or weight specified on the manufacturer’s type plate
– Boats from which the serial number has been removed
8. For professional and rental use, as well as comparable use, the warranty period is one (1) year.
9. The warranty expires as a result of a boating accident if the boat or its hull has sustained damage, or if the insurance company redeems the boat or the engine.
10. The warranty shall expire if the first owner of the boat sells the boat for professional, hire or competition use, and for other uses referred to previously.
11. Indirect damages caused by faults shall not be compensated, and the warranty shall not cover any indirect or consequential costs or other equivalent costs, such as e.g. loss of use time and travel or cargo costs.
12. In salty waters, the attachment of vegetation and the forming of corrosion to the hull shall be prevented with antifouling paint. If the boat is not protected with an antifouling paint, the manufacturer is not responsible regarding problems that corrosion might bring on.
13. Condition of the anodes have to be checked regularly. When there is 50% left from the anode, it must be changed to a new one. The allowed anode has to fulfill MIL-A-24779 (sh) standards (aluminium-indium-zinc-anode). If the anodes are not used accordingly with the manufacturer’s instructions, the manufacturer is not responsible regarding problems that corrosion might bring on.
14. If additional changes or additional devices are added to the Alucat electrical system, they must be done properly by a professional boat electrician. The Alucat electrical system must be a floating one and has to be measured without any voltage leakage to the hull after an additional electrical installation. If an additional electrical work is not done according to the manufacturer’s instructions, the manufacturer is not responsible regarding the issues expressed due the fault installation, e.g. corrosion.
15. As a condition for the warranty, the warranty card must be fully completed in the warranty system (completed by the manufacturer/dealer at the time of delivery).
16. Takuuasioissa asiakas on velvollinen ottamaan yhteyttä tuotteen myyjään/valmistajaan. Esim. Alucat Catamarans Oy, info@alucat.fi. Takuuasioissa myyjä/valmistaja sitoutuu ottamaan yhteydenottajaan yhteyttä 48 tunnin kuluessa ja esittämään ratkaisuehdotuksen 14 päivän kuluessa yhteydenottopäivästä.
