Rescue Boat Designed for Its Mission
ALUCAT® W30 is a rescue boat designed for demanding professional and authority operations. The vessel has been specifically developed for missions that require extensive deck space, high payload capacity, and the flexibility to adapt the boat to a wide range of operational needs. In September 2026, the first ALUCAT® W30 CAB4 PRO built by us was delivered to the Kymenlaakso Rescue Department for rescue service operations.

Space for Rescue Equipment and Efficient Operations
The design of the Kymenlaakso W30 focused particularly on low resistance and a highly versatile deck layout. The vessel features a four-person, sound- and vibration-insulated cabin designed for year-round operation. The cabin provides ample workspace and storage capacity, along with the information technology systems required for rescue operations.

The compact size of the CAB4 PRO cabin leaves most of the deck area open for operational use. The spacious deck provides ample room for rescue equipment, tools, and other mission-critical gear. In rescue operations, a highly versatile deck layout is essential, as the equipment carried on board can vary significantly depending on the task.
Wide Hull and Open Deck Support Rescue Operations
The W30 offers approximately 30 m² of deck space and a payload capacity of around 3,000 kg. The vessel is 9.5 metres long and 3.9 metres wide. Its bow ramp is approximately 1.95 metres wide, making it easier to move personnel and equipment on and off the boat. The deck is completely unobstructed and finished with a non-slip coating. In addition, the self-draining deck enhances onboard safety. With a draft of approximately 0.6 metres at full load, the W30 can operate and land efficiently in a wide range of environments. The vessel is powered by twin 250 hp Mercury outboard engines. The W30 is approved as a Class B professional boat.

What Was Considered in the Procurement?
In the procurement of a rescue boat, however, technical specifications are only one part of the overall solution. An equally important consideration was defining, already during the design phase, how many personnel the vessel would carry and what kind of working environment they would require. Together with the customer, we also assessed the type of equipment the boat would transport and the operational conditions it would face. As a result, we developed an entirely new vessel model that met the requirements of a Class B certification. In addition, we carefully reviewed the equipment and onboard technology needed for day-to-day operations. The vessel delivered to the Kymenlaakso Rescue Department is an example of how a professional boat can be built entirely around the end user's operational needs.
